Outreach

Affirming public servants: One of our traditions is to recognize and affirm public servants. This we do in the context of our worship service on a Sunday. At different times throughout the year we had Appreciation Sundays for the public educators, police officers and health-care workers.

Family ministries: In order to support and strengthen homes the church is committed to provide resources, training and support groups. We have had- marriage enrichment seminars, men’s conferences, seminar for parents and family conferences. In addition there is a plan to have a Resource Library that will be stocked with resources to build up the home. 

We want to also use the media- print, radio, T.V. videos, tapes and CDs and this website to communicate messages and information to enhance family life.

Our church has placed an emphasis on reaching boys and men as we consider the crucial role they play in leadership in home and strengthening our families, church and society.  We are developing two programs, the Journey to Manhood Institute and a Fathering Centre to reach our boys and men.

Refresh: As a member church of the Jane-Finch Church Coalition our members have been involved in the Refresh program – helping residents in the Toronto Housing to paint their homes in the summer. This has provided a wonderful open door to get to know the people in our neighbourhood.

Supporting our Public Schools: We want to see all our children excel in school, that is why we encourage volunteering in the Schools in the area.
